Make sure that the flat sheet will fit your bed. It’s true that king size sheets will fit onto smaller beds. However, there are specific sizes that are available. The twin flat sheets measure 66 x 96 inches or 167 x 243 cm.
The extra long twin sheet is 66 x 102 inches or 167 x 259 cm. The full flat sheet is 81 x 96 inches or 205 x 243 cm. The queen flat sheet measures 90 x 102 inches or 228 x 259 cm. The California king / standard king measures 108 x 102 inches or 274 x 259 cm.
These are the standard sizes. But some manufacturers have other standards. Don’t assume that the twin size automatically refers to the dimensions mentioned above. Check the actual numbers so mistakes are avoided.
Quality
Not all flat sheets are made the same way. If you want good quality, look for flat sheets that are brushed on both sides. To avoid shrinkage and pilling, buy the highest quality flannel sheets you can afford.
A low quality sheet will deteriorate quickly. Don’t waste your money on low quality sheets. You will just end up buying a new one. Worse, it won’t provide the comfort you require.
Sets or Solo
Flannel flat sheets can be purchased separately or with fitted sheets and pillowcases. If you bought it with a fitted sheet and pillowcases, it is called a set. Buying in sets certainly has its advantages. You get everything you need to accessorize your bed in one package.
However, purchasing the sheets separately is preferred by others. The reason is simple: they can customize the design and look of the bedroom. With sets, you are stuck with one color and style. By purchasing individually, you can match the items.

Prices vary. A high thread count usually translates into greater expenses. But you can find some discounted products online. These days it isn’t unusual for online stores to sell at lower prices than retail stores.
One more thing needs to be said about buying flannel flat sheets: if you need to buy several items, purchase in bulk. This will entitle you to discounts or shipping rate cuts.
